Following a packed out launch event for their debut CD ‘Then’ at Studio Two (Parr Street) in early April, Perri and Neil now bring their Quartet to Eric’s for an intimate jazz-tinged concert. The event, which will feature a solo support set from Neil, will take place on Thursday 24th May. the performance starts at 8pm with doors from 7pm. Prog in the Park Featuring Bulbs

A free outdoor extravaganza of exciting music which knows no boundaries is to take place in Chavasse Park, Liverpool ONE between 1-5pm on the afternoon of Sunday 13th May. Titled ‘Prog in the Park’ the afternoon festival event features four Liverpool based ensembles each of whom, in their own way, create music which quite literally defies categorisation.

Drawing on minimalism, krautrock, postrock, prog-rock, math-rock, contemporary electronica and world music and all points in between, the artists (Bulbs, Loka, Carlo Bowry (Wizards of Twiddly) and Gorp) will perform sets which will take both dedicated listeners and casual shoppers on musical journeys the like of which they have probably never before experienced.

Perri and Neil Launch New Album ‘Then’

Perri and Neil are really pleased to announce the launch of their debut album, ‘Then’, on 4th April 2012. Their music contains flavours from all manner of styles, including jazz, folk, salsa, R ‘n’ B, classical and progressive rock. The recording features some fabulous musicians: instrumentalists Joey Zeb (The Mighty Zeb/The Bulbs/The Corinthians and Gorp), Philipp Moll (Killerfernandez), Paul Riley (The Random Family) and Colin Lamont (Thomas Lang/Mark Lanegan) and vocalists Jennifer John, Kaya Herstad Carney, Ogo Nzeakor and Sarah Noufal.

Perri and Neil will perform with their band at this launch event, along with support sets from Joanne Roberts, Jennifer John and Ogo Nzeakor. PERRI AND NEIL PLAY PARR JAZZ (TUESDAY 6TH MARCH)

On Tuesday 6th March from around 8pm, Perri and Neil will perform their first set of the year at Parr Jazz, Studio Two (Parr Street, Liverpool). After playing as a duo Perri and Neil have quite recently been joined by Paul Riley (bass) and Colin Lamont (drums) and this gig will be their first outing together as a band. The four musicians between them bring together a massive array of influences which include jazz, folk, progressive rock, classical music, singer songwriter music and R ‘n’ B. They will feature on the forthcoming recording which has been over a year in the making and will soon be complete.

The programme will feature new compositions inspired by the history of the stunning Library, with special guest performances from vocalist Perri Alleyne-Hughes (Sense of Sound) and soprano Anne Taft (Ghost Stories: A Night Opera). On Friday 21st October at View 2 Gallery, Mathew Street, Liverpool, Neil will present an evening of his work for solo guitar and for guitar with added loops and electronics.This will be the first purely solo guitar concert Neil has played for several years. Despite the last minute cancellation of Mugstar who were to double bill with The Bulbs at Liverpool’s Static Gallery (Roscoe Lane) on Thursday 4th August, the gig WILL STILL TAKE PLACE. The second ever Bulbs gig will go ahead with a specially extended set of prog/post-rock and conspiracy theories from The Bulbs.
